El cobre si es puro 100% sin embargo la amatista no es original, es vidrio. Ya que haciendo la prueba con una luz de linterna no se ven los destellos de la piedra. Lástima q ya después de 2 meses supe de esta prueba para validar autenticidad sino la hubiera devuelto, inclusive tmb la revisaron en una tienda de cuarzos
Entiendo la preocupación, pero la conclusión “es vidrio porque con la linterna no se ven destellos” no es una prueba gemológica válida.Una linterna no es un refractómetro.
¿Por qué la “prueba de linterna / destellos” NO demuestra que sea vidrio?
La amatista (cuarzo) tiene un índice de refracción moderado (aprox. 1.544–1.553) y baja dispersión; por eso no “destella” como un diamante ni necesariamente muestra “chispas” con una linterna.
Los “destellos” dependen muchísimo de:
Tipo de corte (facetado vs. cabujón),
Pulido,
Tono (si es más oscuro, “apaga” reflejos),
Transparencia y orientación bajo la luz.
Conclusión profesional: que no veas destellos NO prueba que sea vidrio.
¿Qué sí se usa en gemología para diferenciar amatista vs. vidrio (métodos verificables)?
Índice de refracción (RI): el cuarzo/amatista cae en 1.544–1.553.
Gravedad específica (SG): el cuarzo ronda ~2.66; en gemología la medición hidrostática es un test estándar de identificación.
Dureza (Mohs): amatista 7 (vidrio común suele ser menor, y se raya distinto).
Microscopía 10x: el vidrio suele delatarse por burbujas de gas, líneas de flujo y marcas de molde; esos son “clásicos” en imitaciones de vidrio.
Sobre “la revisaron en una tienda de cuarzos”
Una revisión seria debería incluir lecturas (RI, SG) o al menos observación con lupa 10x buscando rasgos diagnósticos.
Si solo “la vieron a ojo” o repitieron la idea de la linterna, no es concluyente.
Con la información que compartes, lo correcto es esto:
No se puede afirmar que sea vidrio usando esa prueba.
La amatista auténtica puede no mostrar “destellos” con linterna por sus propiedades ópticas y por el corte/tono.
Si deseas una validación irrefutable, lo ideal es un reporte gemológico o, como mínimo:
Foto/video con lupa 10x + luz lateral,
Medición de RI (refractómetro),
Medición de SG (hidrostática).
Con gusto te indico exactamente qué pedirle a cualquier gemólogo/lab para que te den un dictamen verificable.
